Sidharth Malhotra found acting in movies difficult

Acting isn’t really an easy art to master. Quoting newcomer Sidharth Malhotra, “The only disadvantage in being from outside is doing filmy things. I’m not so dramatic and not comfortable doing over-the-top things. When you look at Shah Rukh Khan, it’s not what he sings on screen, but how he sings too. He sings (lip-syncs) with so much passion and love. This was a challenge at least for me.”

Making his debut with the upcoming film Student of the Year, tinsel-town fresher Sidharth Malhotra will make his first big-screen appearance alongside Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. However, unlike his co-actors, Sidharth has had no previous training for the silver-screen, though he has faced the camera at a younger-age playing a child artist for the TV show Prithviraj Chauhan. This however hasn’t deterred the young actor from acting in a full-fledged film. Quickly adjusting with the usual long work-hours, that at times top 13 to 14 hours a day, Sidharth kept a meticulous check on his health and fitness regime. The young actor has been working-out as often as possible to stay in exceptional shape for the film.

Previously, Sidharth Malhotra was roped in for a film that however failed to kick off. He has worked as an Assistant Director along with now-co-actor Varun Dhawan, helping Karan Johar for his most-recent Dharma Productions release, My Name Is Khan. The movie was Karan Johar’s fourth film. Discerning his knack for Bollywood, Karan then casted Sidharth Malhotra for his upcoming film titled Student of the Year. The film is a campus-romance and is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Shah Rukh Khan’s banner Red Chillies Entertainment.

Karan Johar’s Student of the Year will see Sidharth Malhotra play the role of Abhimanyu, a student at St. Teresa’s High School, Dehradun, who enters a competition with Rohan Nanda (Varun Dhawan) and Shanaya Singhania (Alia Bhatt) as opponents.
